YAZOO COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Yazoo City Police Chief Jeff Curtis said officers responded to multiple early morning shootings Saturday.

Coroner Ricky Shivers has confirmed that another man has now died as a result of these shootings.

Chief Curtis said around 1:45 a.m. officers were called to Big Chase Restaurant, where they learned an altercation between Wesely B. Moore and Keith F. Dent had occurred.

Curtis said Moore was shot in his back area and Dent is suspected of pulling the trigger.

Officials say Moore was transported to University Medical Center where he died early Sunday morning, around 5:58 a.m.

Dent was not on the scene when authorities arrived at the restaurant, located at 108 E. Broadway.

Curtis said later around 7:15 a.m. officers were called to Monroe and East Jefferson St. in reference to a man in a yard, that had a weapon near him.

When officers arrived at S. Monroe and East Jefferson Street, the body of Dent was identified, and he was pronounced dead on the scene.

Chief Curtis said the investigation is still ongoing.
