Wednesday's Child- Mo'Nifiah

BRANDON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - She is 16 years old, has been in foster care a little over 3 years and is separated from two younger siblings. Mo’Nifiah has big plans for her future that include providing a home for her little sister and brother.

Mo’Nifiah is quiet and seems almost shy. She was not really excited about our cameras.  Mo’nifiah enjoys bowling and says it was fun once she relaxed.

Mo’nifiah said, “I’m outgoing, caring and helpful, and I like being around people.”

Foster care has not been easy for Mo’Nifiah. After 3 years she is tired of foster care but doubtful about adoption.

Mo’Nifiah explained, “my brother is 14, and my sister is 11.”

Mo, her nickname, has made plans for her future with or without a permanent family.

Mo'Nifiah said, “when I graduate, I graduate next year I want to go to med school to become a pediatrician.”

She is hopeful for parents who will see her potential.

Mo’Nifiah said, “a family that actually shows that they care. They help me and they support me a lot.”

Mo has had to adapt to lots of changes in the last three years, she says the challenge of finding a good family is more than worth the effort.
