Run for Ryan, toddler fighting leukemia

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

If you want to support a local toddler during his fourth round of leukemia join athletic trainer Paul Lacoste outside of the State Capitol Thursday night.

Lacoste is hosting a 5K in honor of 3 year-old Ryan LaSource. The walk/run starts at 6 P.M.

If you come out you're encouraged to wear blue and orange. Blue is Ryan's favorite color and orange represents leukemia awareness.

Ryan and his parents are at Duke University preparing for a second bone marrow transplant.
"He's truly a fighter. He's always been one of the strongest people I know. When the doctors told us he was going to be sick or feeling bad or acting a certain way he's never been that person. He's always been the one that's laughing and playing and running down the hall," says Ryan's grandfather, Bama LaSource.

If you participate in the 5K and can donate towards Ryan's medical expenses you are encouraged to do so.
The 5K is free.
