Epps sentencing delayed, prison bribery accusations up to $800 million

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Former MDOC Commissioner Chris Epps has had his sentencing delayed once again.

Epps arrived in federal court this morning to face various bribery charges. Prosecutors say Epps' actions cost the state more than $300 million in losses, but prosecutors recently found that there could be more than $800 million in losses. 

A new hearing has been set for June 9 and sentencing has been slated for July 18. 

Also, defendant Cecil McCrory's attorney revealed that the businessman plans to withdraw his guilty plea. He is scheduled to be sentenced June 9.
