Wednesday's Child- Aeron

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - Overcoming adversity is an understatement when it comes to this week's Wednesday's Child. 8 year old Aeron is always upbeat. He is in a wheelchair but against the odds he has learned to walk on his own. It will take a very special forever family for this extraordinary and determined little boy.

Aeron can form some words like mama, and he loves to receive affection and give it in return, like blowing kisses.

“Yes are you blowing bubbles at me? Okay I gave you a kiss. Did you give me a kiss?”

One of his favorite toys is his bouncy ball. He is fascinated with animals and at the Mississippi Science Museum he wanted to touch every animal and fish. Aeron is enrolled in kindergarten and enjoys learning new things.  His favorite thing to do in class is sing the alphabet.  On our taping one of his favorite things was trying to grab my necklace.

“What are you doing? So you’re trying to get my necklace again.”

Aeron is partially paralyzed on one side, he walks with a limp. Doctors believed he would not walk or talk however, he does both. Aeron has been with his foster mother for 6 years.  He understands what she says to him and is learning to communicate with others.  Aeron likes to push his wheelchair and has learned how to steer whoever is with him in the right direction.

“Amen. Amen. Yes amen. Amen.”

His social worker says Aeron would benefit from a single or two parent home where he will be cared for, for the rest of his life. He needs parents who will provide him with love and lots of patience. His foster mother says Aeron has given her more love and blessed her in more ways than she can count.
