Pike County inmate dies

PIKE COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

An inmate died in custody at the Pike County jail Friday morning.

Chief Deputy Gregory Martin with the Pike County Sheriff's Office says other inmates reported that 64-year-old David Moak was having breathing problems. Jailers performed CPR on Moak. He was taken to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center, where he died. He was serving six months for harassment, and was scheduled to be released April 29. 

The situation is under investigation.
