Gulfport man sentenced for stealing firearms

GULFPORT, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Thirty-two year-old Octavia Jermaine Winters Gulfport, was sentenced Friday to 10 years in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release for stealing firearms from a licensed dealer.

U.S. Attorney Gregory Davis also announced that Winters was ordered to pay restitution of $9,008.68 and a $4,000 fine. The case involved the theft of 52 firearms from Friendly Pawn and Auto in Saucier, Mississippi.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Annette Williams.
