Victims involved in Rankin County deadly crash identified

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Corporal Eric Henry with MHP said Saturday afternoon a two-vehicle accident in Rankin County left three people dead.

The driver of one vehicle has been identified as 28-year-old Leroy Hobson Jr.  

Hobson, along with a three-year-old boy and five-year-old boy in the vehicle, died at the scene of the crash.26-year-old Kenisha Hobson, the driver's wife, was transported to UMMC with injuries.  

The driver of the second vehicle, 73-year-old Leroy Kersh, was also transported to UMMC with injuries.

Corporal Henry said Hobson was driving a Ford Windstar, traveling west on Highway 18, when he lost control and crossed over into the eastbound lane.

The vehicle was struck by a Lexus GS 300, driven by Kersh, which was traveling east.

The accident occurred on Highway 18, near Rosewood Lane in Rankin County.

Henry said wet road conditions may have played a factor in the crash.

The accident is under investigation at this time.
