JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

If you were in Downtown Jackson Friday, you probably spotted dozens of people gathered around the state capitol. It was all part of a Freedom March and rally to encourage women who were raped to stop aborting their unborn children.

Dozens of men and women marched around the capitol to celebrate and honor life and fight against abortion.

“If God didn't want that child to be here, he wouldn't have implanted that seed in the mother's stomach," said a pro-life advocate.

Juda Myers couldn't agree more. She is the founder of Choices 4 Life and admits she was conceived in gang rape. Myers said people tend to devalue pregnant rape victims, but their babies are not a mistake.

“We are killing people by the way we were conceived and that is not even logical,” said Myers.

Myers said on the 50th anniversary of the state's passage of its abortion law, she and this pro-life group want to see Mississippi take steps toward change.

“I am asking that people realize that we are human too and we don't need to be killed for the crime of another person," said Myers. "This is an injustice like no other.”

But not everyone who showed up agreed.

“If there is anyone who has a choice to bear a child or not, it is a victim of rape,” said Dorenda Hancock.

A pro-choice group stood across the street waving signs and stressing that it's unfair to strip a woman's rights away.

“They do not have the right to make our choices for us,” Hancock said.
