MDOT to unveil Fallen Worker Memorial

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) will continue honoring its 100th year by unveiling a Fallen Worker Memorial on the grounds of the MDOT Administration Building.

Since 1992, transportation crashes have been the leading cause of on-the-job deaths in the United States. MDOT will be honoring its fallen workers with a memorial dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives in service to transportation in Mississippi. 

Mississippi Transportation Commissioners Dick Hall, Tom King and Mike Tagert; MDOT Executive Director Melinda McGrath; Walt Grayson; and Miss Mississippi Hannah Roberts will be on hand for the occasion.

The unveiling will take place at the MDOT Administration Building located at 401 North West Street in Jackson.,Tuesday, May 10th at 1:30 p.m.
