JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

On Monday morning construction crews continued paving streets in Jackson.

Paving work started near Capitol Street on Byrd Drive, Lindbergh Drive and Veterans Boulevard.
More than one dozen other streets in Jackson have been approved for resurfacing work in the coming weeks.

A business owner we spoke with says he's happy to see the city is taking care of business.

"Obviously there have been problems here potholes and everything. Many complaints. I have seen people drive along, they hit potholes and actually tear their car up so to see that the city is doing what they're supposed to do it makes the businesses around here feel absolutely wonderful," says Archie Amos the general manager of Auto Connection, LLC.

Crews are also busy filling potholes on portions of several streets, including Lee Street, Archer Avenue and State Street.
