A murder suspect turned himself on Friday for the February murder of a man at a local night club.
Shawn Trotter contacted WLBT to request that we accompany him when he turned himself into police.
Trotter came to the police station with his lawyer.
He is the third suspect to be identified in the February 19 murder of 38-year-old Howard Blackmon.
Around 3 a.m., Blackmon was shot in the chest inside of his vehicle parked outside of the Spot Lounge on Northside Drive. Blackmon made it to the intersection of Northside Drive and Sunset Drive where he was pronounced dead in his car.
Two suspects are already charged in his death; Maurice Dent and Erik Johnson.
Police say 30-year-old Trotter fired an assault rifle during the incident.
According to Commander Tyree Jones, Trotter will be charged with murder.
