A teenager is charged with auto theft after stealing a woman's car and then getting caught by officials on a roof.
Jackson police say a woman went outside Wednesday morning to warm her car, and that's when a 17-year-old boy jumped inside and drove off with it.
The woman says she saw it happen on her home surveillance system. The teen ditched the car at the intersection of Canal and Pointdexter streets in Jackson.
Police later caught him on the roof of an abandoned building and took him into custody. The suspect is charged with auto theft. The woman was not injured.
