JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

WLBT has confirmed through public documents that Jason Lowe, the suspect in the murder of Pascagoula native Jessie Bardwell, is from the Jackson area.

Sergeant Kevin Perlich, with the Richardson Police Department in Texas, also confirmed that Lowe's family comes from the Mississippi area.

Earlier this week, gruesome details were released about the murder of 27-year-old Bardwell. According to our sister station WLOX, there have also been some major inconsistencies with the story that Lowe told police.

In the garage that Lowe and Bardwell shared in Texas, police found blood pooled in Lowe's car, a bullet hole in the wall of the garage and "a distinct smell of decayed flesh."

The document said "detectives believe evidence of homicidal violence and possible body disposal was present."

According to the affidavit, Bardwell was last seen on surveillance video at the apartment's fitness center on April 29. Investigators have not yet recovered her body.

Bardwell's father and step-mother drove from Pascagoula to Texas and filed a missing person report on May 9 after Bardwell did not call her mother or step-mother on Mother's Day.

Bardwell's father told investigators he had not heard from his daughter for two and a half weeks.
