Vigil held for train crash victims in Flora

FLORA, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Heartbreak and incredible loss for family members, friends and many in the community of Flora Friday night; They gathered for a candlelight vigil and prayers to remember and reflect on the lives of a father and his two young children.

thirty-five year-old Michael Allen, 7-year-old Mikilah West and 1-year-old Michael Allen, III, were all inside a pickup truck that was hit by a train Wednesday evening.

"They were all a child of God and there is no doubt in my mind that they are in heaven," said vigil organizer Jeremy Singleton. "They were well respected and just known for being good people."

It was an emotional and solemn ceremony for those who gathered at the intersection of Kearney Park and Simmons Road where the crash happened.
