PEARL, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Monday night, at 9:50 pm, Pearl police tried to stop a black 1999 Ford Ranger for a traffic violation after being reported suspicious in the area of Old Brandon Road and Patton Plaza.

A homeowner in the area alerted authorities that the truck seemed to be scouting the area, possibly to commit a burglary.

When Pearl police found the truck and tried to pull it over for a traffic violation near Hwy 80 and Airport Road, the truck didn't stop for police and went south on Airport Road and then South on 468 out in Rankin County.

The truck drove into the wood line near MS Dept of Corrections Prison before two men jumped out of the truck and ran on foot.

A perimeter search was set up around the levee area that backs up to the prison.

Rankin County Sheriff's Department along with Mississippi Department of Corrections helped Pearl police in the search.

After the investigation, police figured out that Terry Thomas (previously aired last Monday 5/16 on Metro Most Wanted) was possibly one of the men in the truck. Thomas is wanted for Burglary of a Residence out of Pearl for a previous crime in May.

Please call Pearl Police at 601-939-7000 or Crimestoppers at 601-355-TIPS if you have any information on the the suspects or the whereabouts of Terry Thomas.
