Friday morning Jackson police surrounded a home in the 5500 block of Wayneland drive, hunting down unwelcome squatters.
"The house on the corner, they've already caught 5-6 people this week, that house needs to be boarded up, torn down or something," said neighbor David Sullivan.
This is the second day in a row police have been called to the area.
Residents say the homeless guests have left garbage around two homes, and were bold enough to move into an unoccupied home that was being cleaned up for new tenants.
"The people that work in there found some blankets in the back bedroom, toiletries were stolen, light bulbs, anything they could pick up. They've been taking their tools home with them. Luckily they didn't get their tools," said Sullivan.
Officers weren't able to track them down during their visit, which concerns people in the area, that their homes could be targeted.
"I've got a lawn mower. Ain't no telling what they're going to pick up," added Sullivan. "They stole stuff out of this house already so they don't need to be here,"
Police plan to increase patrols, and work closely with residents to catch those camping out.
