HOLMES COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Holmes County man was found stabbed to death on a rural road Sunday, in what investigators are calling an act of domestic violence.

According to Sheriff Willie March, deputies discovered the body of 34-year-old Edward James Randle along Brozville Road near Highway 17 sometime after 1:30 p.m.

He suffered numerous stab wounds to his upper body.

Shortly before 4 p.m. March says Randle's girlfriend, 36-year-old Cassandra Young, learned that deputies were looking for her and turned herself in for questioning.

The sheriff said she has not yet been charged but is the suspect in the fatal stabbing.

Investigators believe Randle left his home and Young found him on Brozville road where the two argued.

We are told the altercation escalated, resulting in the stabbing.

Young then reportedly left the scene.

Sheriff March said Young could face murder charges in the case.
