JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Before speaking to any other media outlet, Ali's second wife and mother of four of his children, Khalilah Camacho-Ali, spoke out to WLBT after learning about his passing.

"My first love, my first marriage and the father of my first children", said Camacho-Ali.

Legendary moments in the ring molded Muhammad Ali into one of the most famous professional boxers in the world.

Khalilah Camacho Ali stood by his side for many years. She was his second wife. She shared these family pictures with us via Facetime from Florida, talking about the life she had with the man she will forever love.

"He has no worries, no fights, no struggles, no battles. Now he is in a state where he does not suffer. There's no battles to fight and nothing to prove and nothing to gain. He's at peace," Camacho-Ali added.

What you may not know about the boxing legend are his ties to Madison County, Mississippi.

"We came down there and went hunting with my Uncle Jack. I remember when Ali shot the gun it hit his mouth and swole up. It was funny that the gun beat him. He got on the Johnny Carson show with his face beat up and he had to explain how it got that way. So, he talked about Madison County," Camacho-Ali said.

Khalilah grew up in Madison County. She says Ali loved to visit her family.

"He loved the fact that people loved to hunt and fish and he loved the outdoors. He had never had an experience like that. He really loved being down in Mississippi with my father and mother's people," she added.

Muhammad's more than 30 year battle with Parkinson's disease came to an end Friday at the age of 74.

"I pray that he's in peace and he's in paradise and he doesn't have to suffer or struggle anymore. We had a great and wonderful adventure. Those times and memories I will never forget," Camacho-Ali said.
