COPIAH COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Friday a family member of James "Dee" Hemphill's said his funeral arrangements had been completed.

Troy Hemphill, the nephew of James "Dee" Hemphill, told us funeral arrangements for Hemphill are set for 2 p.m. June 16, at Springhill Baptist Church in Martinsville, Miss. Visitation is at the church from noon to 2 p.m.

Friday we learned that a dam above the gravel pit collapsed. That dam was holding back water from a pond, and when it broke it sent all the water and mud down onto Hemphill and Emmitt Shorter.

The pond was over the gravel pit.

The bottom of the gravel pit is now filled with a thick mud that they are slowly pumping out.

Friday crews in Copiah County continued searching for Shorter, who went missing June 3, along with Hemphill. Hemphill's body was recovered Thursday.

Many people from Shorter's old high school are praying for a miracle.

MEMA and MSHA officials say they now have cadaver dogs searching around two pieces of equipment.

Officials say Shorter could be anywhere in the large area, possibly pushed away from those vehicles as that wave of water rushed down.

Our crew on the scene said officials are waiting for an industrial dredge to arrive and begin pumping out the material.

Friday Skycopter 3 flew over the scene providing a better perspective of what the crews on the ground are dealing with.

MEMA confirmed that the body recovered Thursday in the pit at Green Brothers Gravel Company was that of Hemphill.

At around 2:30 am on Thursday, MEMA said that Green Brothers Gravel Company found Hemphill's body inside of equipment inside the gravel pit.

The company is located in Crystal Springs.

Friday family and friends of Shorter honored his life where he spent time learning the trade. Students at the Mississippi Job Corp in Crystal Springs held a ceremony for him.

Shorter took classes at the Job Corp while attending Crystal Springs high school in 2011.

The event was concluded with a balloon release.  Shorter's mother and other relatives were in attendance.

Hemphill and Shorter were buried alive the morning of June 3, when the gravel pit they were working in collapsed on top of them.
