Suspect identified in Vans Sporting Goods theft

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

According to Rankin County authorities, David Malcom Covington, of Meridian, has been named a suspect in the June 15 burglary of Van's Sporting Goods.  

Investigators were able to locate the car recorded on store surveillance. 

The car is registered to a family member of Covington. 

Covington was not at the Lauderdale County residence when the vehicle was found.     

Covington has an extensive criminal history, including larceny. 

He is 5’11” with blonde hair and blue eyes with numerous tattoos including those on his right arm.   

A felony warrant for grand larceny has been issued for his arrest.
