Tori Bowie's journey has taken her from Sand Hill to Pisgah to Southern Miss and now to Rio.
Bowie earned a spot Sunday on the U.S. Olympic Team, finishing 3rd in the 100 meter finals at U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon.
It was her first loss in a 100m race all year, but the result is one of the biggest victories in her career.
The top three finishers in the race qualified for Team USA.
Bowie is the 2nd athlete with Mississippi ties to qualify for the 2016 Olympics at U.S. Trials, so far. 2012 gold medalist Brittany Reese won the long jump to qualify.
