TCHULA, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A night on the town this holiday weekend turned deadly when gunfire opened outside a nightclub near Tchula.

One man was killed while police say the suspected shooters went on the run.

The victim's girlfriend recounts those terrifying moments when shots rang out in front of her eyes.

"They just walked up and kept shooting, just kept shooting and kept shooting," said Sonya Watson, Christopher Robinson's girlfriend. "So evidently they wanted him dead."

The Holmes county resident recalled the horrifying scene that unfolded as her boyfriend's body was riddled with bullets just after 3 a.m. Sunday.

Watson said 43-year-old Robinson argued with 29-year-old Donald Wilson before he was surrounded by a group.

"One boy pushed him. He pushed another boy and by that time all the boys were coming form around the car behind him and Leo, the little boy Leo hit him," said Watson. "When he hit him my boyfriend fell to the ground and Donald Wilson just walked up and just kept shooting, just kept shooting".

Watson said she was standing nearby when Robinson was shot six times.

She then left Club Mixx on Highway 49 and ran to a nearby home to ask someone to call 911.

The girlfriend said Robinson was acquaintances with Wilson and others in the group and she can't comprehend why a disagreement ended his life.

"They talked to one another everyday," added Watson. "That's why I don't understand why you just took his life for nothing."

Holmes County Sheriff Willie March said the shooter and a woman fled the scene and were captured in Jackson.

JPD Commander Tyree Jones identified them as 29-year-old Donald Wilson and 32-year-old Marquita Steadman.

They are being held at JPD until extradition to Holmes County.

Watson says Robinson is the father of nine children.
