MS rapper gets in heated debate at Black Lives Matter panel

ATLANTA, GA (Mississippi News Now) -

Many artists are voicing their opinions in the Black Lives Matter movement across the United States after recent police violence and shootings.

Mississippi-born rapper, David Banner is one of these voices. He was on the panel for a 'Black Lives Matter' event in Atlanta, Georgia that included law enforcement officers, civil rights leaders and celebrities.

According to local media reports, during this panel, Banner and R&B singer, Lyfe Jennings, got into a heated debate over differing views

According to reprots, Banner suggested that police officers face financial or physical consequences for bad behavior. Jennings disagreed with his statements.

In a Youtube video, Jennings can be heard responding to Banner, saying, "What we're going through is crazy, but we're not going to create more by telling these people to bring guns against the police. That's stupid".

The panel's moderator, Tyrese Gibson stepped in before things escalated between the artists.
