ABERDEEN, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Monroe County mother has been arrested and charged after her child was found with burns.

According to WTVA in Tupelo, on Thursday the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department arrested 39-year-old Angela Nadean Randolph, of Amory, for felonious child abuse. Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said the victim was her child and the child suffered burns.

What was used to cause those burns is not being released at this time.

Cantrell says the child is okay.

“It’s just a bad situation,” Cantrell said.

He said the incident happened recently and there is no determination as to why she did it. Randolph is currently in the Monroe County Jail awaiting arraignment.

Cantrell says no other arrests are expected in this case.
