RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Richland Police Department were involved a police pursuit that began in Magee on Sunday.

According to Richland Police Department spokeswoman Allison Clark, two people attempted to steal a car from the Huddle House in Magee, when someone saw them and called police.

Police in Magee and Mendenhall attempted to pull the car over, but the car would not stop.

The two continued on Highway 49 northbound when the Richland Police Department deployed spike strips, which caused two of the tires to blow out.

They continued from Highway 49 onto Flowood Drive, where Flowood Police were successful in a tactical vehicle intervention.

Clark said both got out of the car and tried to flee but were caught by Flowood Police north of Treetops Blvd.
