PIKE COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

We're found disturbing developments out of Pike County, in the case of a missing McComb man.

Thursday evening investigators found the body of Cort Gatlin.

Gatlin had been missing for a week.

The Pike County Sheriff's Department says Gatlin's body was found in the Bogue Chitto River, off Alford Bridge Road, northeast of Summit.

Gatlin's family says they have knowledge that he was severely tortured before he died.

Relatives we talked to say they discovered burned clothes and shell casings near the area where his body was found.

Friday his brother described in detail how he was killed.

Gatlin's brother Edward said,  "We know he was duct taped. We know he was shot in the head. We know he was tied up. We know he was burned and we know he was dumped in the lake, we know that."

Investigators with the Pike County Sheriff's Department are working closely with McComb Police on this case.

We're told they have a person of interest, but so far no arrests have been made.

Gatlin leaves behind three children, two girls and a boy all under the age of six.
