JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A former Mississippi State University employee has been arrested for embezzlement.

63-year-old Susan Holder surrendered herself to the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office on September 2 and has been indicted for embezzlement.

During the course of the investigation, special agents with the Office of the State Auditor determined that Holder received excessive reimbursement for travel. Evidence shows that Holder charged travel expenses on her personal credit card, which was paid by a private Foundation, and then submitted reimbursement to MSU for the same expenses.

Records indicated that Holder submitted duplicate travel expenses in the amount of $35,496.98. These travel expenses were incurred from September 2007 through October 2011.

Holder was employed by MSU from 1991 until she was terminated on November 30, 2011.
