Fred McNair said that Saturday's win over Alabama State left some of his Braves "a little banged up."
The Alcorn State head coach said that QB Lenorris Footman is questionable for Thursday's matchup with UAPB with an ankle injury. Footman suffered the injury in the 2nd quarter. He didn't practice with the Braves on Tuesday
McNair said "Right now, he's just questionable. The things he's gotta do, and see day to day how he feels, tomorrow maybe he'll be back with us. If not, we'll continue to press on. Like I said, next man up."
That next man up could be Noah Johnson. He shined in the 2nd half vs. Alabama State, throwing the go-ahead touchdown in the 3rd quarter. McNair liked how the redshirt freshman performed in a critical conference game.
"Noah Johnson played extremely well, and that's one thing to prepare himself through the week like they're going to start every game. When his number was called, he was ready to come in and answer the call. His performance was pretty good, coming in on the 3rd drive and scoring a touchdown for us and putting us up in that game, so it was big for us. Noah is going to continue to play for us the way he played, hopefully everything works out."
Alcorn State faces UAPB Thursday at 6:30pm. You can watch the Braves on ESPNU and online at ESPN3.com.
