The Ridgeland Police Department, with the assistance of the US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, arrested 34-year-old Jimmie Lashaun Gardner of Jackson around 6:30 Wednesday morning for an outstanding warrant with the Ridgeland Police Department.
Gardner was wanted in connection with the Labor Day weekend chase by Ridgeland Police Department where he (Gardner) was driving a vehicle the wrong direction on the lower Spillway Road near the Ross Barnett Reservoir and nearly struck several vehicles head on while attempting to avoid a safety checkpoint.
Ridgeland Police attempted to stop the vehicle driven by Gardner but he failed to stop and led officers on a chase which eventually resulted in Gardner crashing the vehicle and fleeing on foot.
Gardner was located at his residence on Lynda Street and taken into custody after he was discovered lying under a bed. Gardner is currently being held in the Madison County Sheriffs Department Detention Center on $30,000.00 bond where he is facing the following charges:
Gardner is scheduled to appear in Ridgeland Municipal Court on Tuesday, October 4 at 8:30 am.
