JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

It was a tough weekend for Mississippi football.

The Magnolia State is home to ten football playing colleges and universities, and every one of those schools lost this weekend.

Ole Miss took on the Alabama Crimson Tide in Oxford on Saturday. The Rebels struck first, but Alabama rallied from the 21-point deficit and scored 31 points in the second half to beat Ole Miss, 48-43, at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Mississippi State traveled to Death Valley and faced the 20th ranked Tigers. LSU withstood a late rally for a 23-20 victory over Mississippi State.

Jackson State falls to 0-3 after a 35-14 loss to Grambling State.

Southern Miss overcame a first half 24-10 deficit, tying things up at 24-all in the second half. The Golden Eagles then fell behind 34-24 in the third quarter, but pulled the game to 34-31. But USM could not pull off the rally, falling to Troy, 37-31.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff's Brandon Duncan passed for a career high 505 yards with four TD passes on Thursday night as the Golden Lions rallied from a 16-point, fourth-quarter deficit to upset two-time defending conference champion Alcorn State 45-43 in three overtimes.

Mississippi Valley State also falls to 0-3 after a 31-0 loss to Texas Southern.

The second ranked University of West Georgia scored 21 unanswered points in a 34-24 victory over visiting Delta State in Saturday's Gulf South Conference opener for both teams.

Mississippi College started strong, but a second half surge led West Alabama to a 35-13 victory over the Choctaws.

Millsaps suffered their first road loss falling 35-16 against the University of Chicago on Saturday.

The Huntingdon Hawks picked up its third straight win of the season on Saturday, defeating the Belhaven Blazers 65-21 in Montgomery.

This is the first weekend since 1998 that all ten Mississippi FBS, FCS, D2, or D3/NAIA football teams have lost.
