JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police are on the scene of Hallmark Gardens Apartments on Northside Drive where three people have been shot, and one is dead.

Police have identified the victim as 31-year-old Anthony Thomas. He was shot multiple times.

Northside Drive was shut down in both directions as police worked the crime scene between Manhattan Blvd and Office Park Drive. It has since been re-opened.

According to JPD, there was a domestic situation in the parking lot of the apartment complex involving two men who shot at each other.

Both were hit by gun fire, and one was killed. Another person was also shot, but it is unclear if they were a part of the situation or an innocent bystander.

According to authorities, 28-year-old Harold Walker, Jr. and 27-year-old Nicholas Knight are both in stable condition and will recover.

According to Commander Tyree Jones, one victim is in the hospital in critical condition and the other is in stable condition.

There are no suspects at this time. According to Jackson police, the area is safe and this was an isolated incident.

There are two schools in the vicinity -- Chastain Middle and Boyd Elementary.

Sherwin Johnson, with Jackson Public Schools, says that several buses will be delayed because of the shooting and will have to take different routes. He also suggests that parents take a different route to drop their kids off for school.
