Wife shoots husband in buttocks after argument

SIMPSON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Simpson County Sheriff's Department has arrested a woman after she shot her husband in the buttocks after an argument.  

On Monday, just after 12:30 p.m., 62-year-old Charlie Williams called 911 and reported that he had been shot by his wife of 11 years, 68-year-old Minnie Ruth Williams.

According to Simpson County Sheriff's Office Chief of Staff/Undersheriff Scott Womack, the couple was having an argument that led to Williams shooting her husband. 

Mrs. Williams was arrested without further incident and is awaiting her initial appearance in justice court. She will be formally charged with domestic violence aggravated assault.

Simpson County Sheriff’s office was assisted by the Magee Police Department.

Magee Police Chief Randy Crawford says this shooting happened just outside the city limits.
