JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Months ago, a Jackson woman was assaulted while she slept in her bed, and now she is desperate for her attacker to be caught.

"Five facial lacerations, four of my teeth knocked out, five other ones broken in half, and eight lacerations to the back of my head," said Aidan Blasingame.

Blasingame said she was attacked inside her home on Adkins Blvd. early one morning back in June. She said after multiple surgeries, broken bones, and hours of pain she wants the person responsible behind bars.

"I was asleep in my bed actually and I woke up to a man standing in my doorway with a flashlight in my face," said Blasingame. "And while I was still laying in the bed he came and attacked me with a crescent wrench."

"This is still an ongoing investigation," said Commander Tyree Jones. "We have made contact with the victim. She has been interviewed several times by investigators at the Jackson Police Department. At this particular time we are still trying to gather more suspect information that would lead us to the proper identification of the suspect so that we can make an arrest in this particular case."

The attacker left the home with the victim's car keys and her phone. Commander Jones said, based on evidence, this was an isolated incident and was not a random attack.

"I want to take this to court," added Blasingame. "I want anything possible to be done about it."
