Week 6 of high school football is in the books. Warren Central, Clinton, Germantown, and Mendenhall are nominees for The End Zone Play of the Week
The End Zone Play of the Week Nominees (September 23rd)
1. Demarcus Jones TD (Warren Central)
Our first nominee is from our Game of the Week. On the 2nd play of the game, Demarcus Jones takes the rock 69 yards for a Warren Central touchdown. Vikings beat Northwest Rankin 28-21 to start the season 5-0, 1-0 in 6A Region 2.
2. Darius Maberry TD (Clinton)
Our second nominee is a big run in a big district tilt. Darius Maberry weaves through the defense, the Southern Miss commit takes one to the house. Clinton beats Madison Central 30-21 in the 6A Region 2 opener.
3. Jamie Johnson (Germantown)
Our third nominee is from the 5A ranks. Jamie Johnson turns the direct snap into a touchdown for Germantown. The Mavericks beat Vicksburg 33-13 in the district opener
4. Deion Dampier finds Zykeil Woodard (Mendenhall)
Our final nominee is from the 93rd Simpson County Super Bowl. Mendenhall rolled the dice in the 2nd quarter. On 4th and goal, Deion Dampier finds Zykeil Woodard in the corner of the end zone for the touchdown. Tigers beat Magee 38-26 for their first victory in the rivalry since 2012.
