This week’s Wednesday’s Child has been in foster care for 7 years. 13 year old Eric says he has moved a lot and can’t wait until he can introduce a forever family to his friends.
Eric was only 6 years old when he was placed in foster care. Eric is friendly, helpful and energetic.
Eric said, “ I’m athletic so I like sports like basketball and football. And I work hard in school so I can play them.”
He is in his school band. He plays trombone. Eric's favorite subject is math. He is hoping to graduate and head to college.
Eric told us, “I want to go to college and do welding and then get a job. And maybe hopefully I can play college ball and go to the NFL and play football.”
His favorite NFL teams are the Saints and Seahawks. Eric has four siblings. Two of them older, two younger.
Eric explained, “I can only see my sister, she’s 19. Her name is Maxine, and it’s been like 7 years since I’ve been away from my family.”
Eric wants to travel with his forever family. He says the first stop would be New Orleans for seafood and a Saints game.
Eric said, “it’s gonna be exciting, like having a family, telling people I have a family, spending time with them and they can spend time with me.”
Eric is hoping he does not have any more moves in his future unless it is with his permanent family.
