MHP says two additional accidents have occurred in the same vicinity of I-55 north in Copiah County, as a deadly Saturday morning accident.
Officials say there are injuries reported.
We're told the first accident involves an 18-wheeler and two vehicles.
Officials say an 18-wheeler was traveling north when it rear ended a budget rental truck that was also traveling northbound, slowing down for traffic.
The chain-reaction accident continued when the budget rental truck rear ended a car that was also traveling northbound.
MHP Corporal Eric Henry says the left lane from the earlier fatal accident is still apparently blocked and was causing traffic to backup.
The accident is at mile marker 57.
A second accident involves one vehicle, at mile marker 55.
We're told the vehicle was traveling northbound when the driver lost control, left the roadway and struck a ditch.
We do not know if anyone was injured in this accident.
