JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - Week 7 of high school football is in the books. Provine, Jackson Prep, Northwest Rankin, and Puckett are nominees for The End Zone Play of the Week.

The End Zone Play of the Week Nominees (September 23rd)

1. Quindarius Washington game winning TD (Provine)

Our first nominee is from our Game of the Week. Provine and Wingfield had an overtime thriller in Jackson and Quindarius Washington's touchdown in OT would decide it. Provine wins 22-14 to start 2-0 in 5A Region 3.

2. Jerrion Ealy punt return TD (Jackson Prep)

Our second nominee is from a MAIS showdown. Jerrion Ealy put on a show against Jackson Academy. The Jackson Prep All-American had 3 touchdowns, including an outstanding punt return. Ealy made several defenders miss on the way to the TD. Jackson Prep won 28-0 for their 28th straight win.

3. Jalen Hoover INT (Northwest Rankin)

Our third nominee is from the 6A ranks. Northwest Rankin's defense shined in an upset over the defending state champions. Jalen Hoover's interception capped the first half as the Cougars beat Starkville 28-7 for their first win in district play.

4. Woody Winters TD (Puckett)

Our final nominee is from a 2A Region 6 opener. Puckett & St. Joseph had a defensive struggle in the first half, but Woody Winters put the Wolves out in front with a rushing touchdown. It would turn out to be the game winner. Puckett wins 27-7 to move to 6-1 on the season.
