JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Mississippi lawmakers are again listening to tax policy recommendations from a conservative national group.

Nicole Kaeding with the Washington-based Tax Foundation was in Jackson, speaking to a bipartisan group that could consider state tax revisions during the 2017 session.

It was her second presentation to the group in just over a month.

House Speaker Philip Gunn asked Kaeding to compile a list of tax recommendations for state legislators to consider.

Kaeding says the Tax Foundation believes corporate taxes are most stifling to growth and that property taxes are the least harmful to growth. She says taxing consumption provides incentives to save.

Democratic Senator Willie Simmons of Cleveland says he'd like to hear from someone with different ideas about tax policy.
