FARMVILLE, VA (Mississippi News Now) -

With the first presidential debate complete, the two vice-presidential hopefuls are getting ready to take the main stage.

The vice-presidential debate Tuesday will be the only time Democrat Tim Kaine and Republican Mike Pence will have the nation's political attention all to themselves, away from their more well-known running mates.

The 90-minute showdown at Virginia's Longwood University will be moderated by Elaine Quijano of CBS News and will run without commercial interruption on WLBT.

While last week's first presidential debate was watched by a record-setting television audience of 84 million people, Tuesday's contest is expected to have smaller viewership given Kaine and Pence's lower profiles in the campaign.

The stakes will be lower than the three presidential debates, but will give each largely undefined candidate a chance to make a mark on a national audience.
