Million-dollar drug bust in Rankin County

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Thursday afternoon around 2:30 p.m., a Pearl police officer, assigned to the Rankin County Drug Interdiction Task Force, stopped a Ford pickup for a traffic violation.

The officer became suspicious that the vehicle was carrying drugs when his K9 alerted on the truck. He got consent for a search, that revealed more than 44 pounds of high grade methamphetamine, with a street value of approximately $1.8-million.

The investigation is on going.
