Clinton, Madison Central, PIsgah, and Canton Academy are nominees for The End Zone Play of the Week.

The End Zone Play of the Week Nominees (October 14th)

1. Cam Akers 76 yard pick six (Clinton)

Our first nominee is from the Game of the Week. Cam Akers accounted for 7 touchdowns including one on defense. He returned an interception 76 yards for a touchdown. Clinton beat Northwest Rankin 56-48 to move to 8-0.

2. Braden Boykin 79 yd punt return TD (Madison Central)

Our second nominee is from a big win in The Jungle. Braden Boykin is known for speed and he showed it in the 1st quarter. His 79 yard punt return for a touchdown gave Madison Central the lead over the defending 6A state champions. Jaguars beat Starkville 29-14 to move to 2nd place in 6A Region 2.

3. Don Ragsdale 97 yard TD (Pisgah)

Our third nominee is from a big night on the ground in Rankin County. Pisgah running back Don Ragsdale rushed for 453 yards and 5 touchdowns in a win over St. Joseph. 97 of those yards came on 1 play. The Dragon makes two defenders miss, stay inbounds, and leaves everyone in the dust. Pisgah beats St. Joe 49-34.

4. Panthers block FG, return for TD (Canton Academy)

Our final nominee is from a meeting between undefeated teams. Canton Academy blocked two field goals to beat Tri-County. The first came in the 2nd quarter. Joe Carter comes around the edge and blocks the kick, Tink Ragsdale picks it up and he's got a caravan of CA blockers leading him to the end zone. Canton Academy beats Tri-County 23-21.
