JPD arrest and charge 5th suspect in Jackson crime spree

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police arrested 16-year-old Markellius Buckley and charged him with 3 counts of armed robbery of a bus.

Buckley is connected with the armed robbery string that involved Montra Wallace, James Hawkins, J'Quantis Brown and Donzarrius Stewart. Authorities say the teens took part in an 8 month crime spree, including armed business hold ups and car theft.

Jackson police outlined the crimes in the following points.

  • February 28-  Attempted Armed Robbery at Dixon’s Seafood on Northside Dr.
    • Hawkins, Wallace and Brown all identified and charged with Attempted Armed Robbery of a Business. No injuries reported.
  • February 28- Armed Robbery of Family Dollar on Clinton Blvd.
    • Hawkins, Wallace and Brown all identified and charged with Armed Robbery of a Business. No injuries reported. 
  • September 19- Armed Robbery of Family Dollar on Capitol St.
    • Hawkins, Wallace and Brown all identified and charged with Armed Robbery of a Business. No injuries reported. 
  • September 23- Armed Robbery of Family Dollar on Raymond Rd.
    • Hawkins and Wallace identified and charged with Armed Robbery of a Business. No injuries reported.
  • October 5-  Armed Robbery of an Individual/Auto Theft on 4911 Old Canton Rd. Victim carjacked for a white Nissan Altima at gunpoint in the parking lot. Minor injuries were reported.
    • Hawkins and Wallace identified and charged with Armed Robbery of an Individual and Auto Theft. The vehicle was recovered on October 8th. Hawkins was arrested on Friday, October 7th for this incident.
  • October 12- the Jackson/Hinds S.W.A.T. team executed an arrest and search warrant at a home on Elfin Ave.
    • Montra Wallace was arrested without incident. He’s been booked into the City Jail.
