Another in-state recruit has committed to Ben Howland's Bulldogs. KeyShawn Feazell flipped from Iowa State to Mississippi State.
The Lawrence County power forward averaged 17 points and 8 boards last season. 247 Sports has the senior as the #2 recruit in the Magnolia State.
I asked him today what went into his decision to flip to the Bulldogs.
"I decided what was best for me. Coach Howland, great basketball coach, he coached a lot of people that are in the NBA now. And the team he has there now, great team, I would love to play with those guys. He did a great job last year, they improved a lot. I would love to play for him."
Feazell has had a long offseason in AAU and getting ready for 2016-17 with LC. He said that he's "working on ball handling because I know at the college level I have to handle the ball more."
He's not just playing for the Cougars in his senior season. KeyShawn is also continuing a family lineage at Lawrence County.
"It means a lot because my dad (Kenely) won two state championships here, my uncle (Doug) won one after him. So it's pretty exciting to carry the name on. It's motivation for me to just go harder and win my last year. This is it for me. it's now or never."
Lawrence County's 2016-17 schedule includes appearances in the Rumble in the South and the New Albany Hotbed Classic.
