VICKSBURG, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Two officers were hurt after their patrol car was hit by two cars in Vicksburg Tuesday night.

Police were responding to a suicide attempt around 11:00 p.m. at the Hayes Street Apartments. When they arrived, a man tried to hit the officer's car with his own car.

The officer managed to move out of the way, but another patrol car with two officers inside was hit head-on.

Police say the cruiser was then pushed into traffic on Clay Street and rear-ended by another car. The suspect lost control and crashed into a utility pole.

"The suspect was still out of control," said Chief Walter Armstrong. "But they did manage to arrest him after tasing him."

Both officers and the driver of the car were taken to the hospital, treated for minor injuries and released. The suspect was also taken to the hospital.

Police have not released his name or details on charges
