Wednesday's Child- Felicia

12 year old Felicia is the second oldest in the sibling group we’re getting to know on Wednesday’s Child. She and her older sister Shakira have stepped up to the plate to watch over their younger siblings. A job Felicia says is not always easy and one she would gladly give to a forever family.

Felicia is usually cheerful.  She has learned to be resilient and bounces back quickly from disappointment.

Felicia said, “I like to swim, I like to dance, I like to sing, climb trees. I like to play softball and I like to bowl.”

Trying to keep her sisters and brothers in line has been good practice for Felicia. She wants a career in law enforcement.

Felicia told us, “actually I want to be a cop. Reporter: Why do you want to be a cop? Because I have the attitude for it. It seems like fun to chase bad people down.”

There is no hesitation about her favorite subject.

Felicia explained, “I like reading. Reading is my first one. I love reading. Mystery books, love books, adventure books, especially American Chiller. I like math and writing.”

Felicia and her siblings have been in foster care she says, since 2010.  She was just 6 years old. The most important thing for her is not being separated.

Felicia said, “being with my whole family makes me feel wonderful and if we are separated it makes me feel lonely that I don’t have any friends to play with or climb trees with or anything like that.”

Felicia wants a family who has strong faith.

Felicia said, “a Christian family and a family that likes to do adventures.”

Felicia says having a permanent home would be the adventure of a lifetime and she can’t wait.
