JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Black Diamonds strip club has been seized and shut down by a court order.

It has been shut down several times in the past but has re-opened each time. We're told it's being shut down because of a judgment not paid to a man named Marteze Harris.

Harris sued the business for damages after he claimed he was injured by a bouncer at the club. He won a $60,000 judgment against Black Diamond's owner Owens earlier this year that the club has not yet paid.

The history of Black Diamonds seizures and closings are listed below.

July 18, 2016:

The Hinds County Sheriff's Department seized two strip clubs in Jackson; Danny's and Black Diamonds.

The first time the strip club was seized, it stemmed from a lawsuit regarding a man who was reportedly beaten by employees at Danny's in 2011. According to the court's documents, the plaintiff was leaving the club when employees confronted him and struck him several times, injuring him.

As a result of the case in 2013 the owners of Danny's and Black Diamonds were ordered to pay the plaintiff $150,000 in damages. According to the business owners' attorney, a deposit was made with the Hinds County Circuit Clerk while the case is under appeal.
