Warren Central, Pearl, Morton, and Hartfield Academy are nominees for The End Zone Play of the Week.

The End Zone Play of the Week Nominees (October 21st)

1. Demarcus Jones TD on 3rd & 15 (Warren Central)

Our first nominee is from our Patty Peck Honda Game of the Week. Demarcus Jones put on a show as Warren Central knocked off the top ranked team in the state. Jones rushed for 4 touchdowns, including a 15 yard TD on 3rd and 15. Jones also had an interception as the Vikings beat Clinton 50-32.

2. D.D. Bowie circus scramble, TD pass to Von Jennings (Morton)

Our second nominee is from a 3A matchup. D.D. Bowie scrambles around and he scrambles some more, before he hits the B button, triangle, and the juke stick to get open. Bowie goes long and finds Von Jennings. The Panther wide receiver finds an opening and scores on a wild play. Morton beats McLaurin 42-0.

3. Pirates turn 4th & 6 to TD (Pearl)

Our third nominee is from 6A Region 3. Pearl rolls the dice in the first quarter on 4th & 6 in Jim Hill territory. Jake Smithhart finds Tylan Knight, who cuts outside and finds the end zone for 6. Pirates beat Jim Hill 57-14 to stay in 2nd place in the district.

4. Dustin Qualls TD (Hartfield Academy)

Our final nominee is from a MAIS matchup. Hartfield Academy and Central Hinds in a defensive struggle, Hawks and Cougars were scoreless at the half. Dustin Qualls had the go-ahead TD in the 3rd quarter. His outside run gave Hartfield a 7 - nothing lead. Hawks win 24 - 10 to clinch a AAA playoff spot. The victory also secured the first winning season in program history.
