Man arrested and charged with multiple kidnappings

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A man has been arrested for multiple kidnappings in the Jackson area. 

Thirty-two year-old Marcus Baker has been charged with a second count of kidnapping after he was identified as a suspect responsible for the kidnapping of a jogger.

On Tuesday, September 6, just after 7:30 p.m., Jackson Police Officers responded to Dollar General at 4331 Hwy 80 regarding a kidnapping.

When officers arrived, they found that a 27-year-old woman had allegedly been taken at knife point while jogging on North West Street. 

She described the suspect as a tall black male, wearing a black shirt, black pants and a lime green reflector vest.

She said he forced her into a white vehicle and refused to let her leave.

She was able to escape the suspect near the Dollar General where she ran away from the vehicle and called police. She suffered minor injuries and received medical treatment..

He has been charged with an additional count of kidnapping.

Baker is scheduled to appear in Municipal Court on Tuesday morning, October 25, at 9:00 a.m. for an initial hearing.
