SIMPSON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

On Tuesday just after midnight, a blue Yamaha dirt bike fled from deputies on Highway 49 at Highway 540 in Mendenhall before changing lanes and driving northbound in the southbound lane of Highway 49 to Highway 13 south.

The driver is described as having bushy brown hair and wearing a white T-shirt and tan shorts. He also had a tattoo on his back and another on his left calf.

The violater took Hwy 13 south then Smith Drive to Hwy 149 through D'Lo and turned onto Gum Springs Road before abandoning the bike on Gum Springs west of Hickory Springs Drive and then running south across the railroad tracks into the woods. The bike was towed and impounded.

The owner of the motorcycle finally reported it stolen on Monday. He produced the title and filed an affidavit against the violator, Shawn Michael Tullos of Braxton.

Tullos called on Wednesday evening and turned himself in to the Simpson County Sheriff's Office where he was charged on a previous warrant of Credit Card Fraud in Simpson County as well as the theft of this motorcycle.

Eleven additional charges are being filed concerning this incident, subsequent to the interview conducted Thursday.

Rankin County Sheriff's Office has placed a hold on the violator for charges there.
